Note: The Agra tour is an additional option for additional cost.  Members not opting can arrange a different trip itinerary.  

Su October 5:  Tour Leader departs from Germany, late evening arrival in Delhi. 
M October 6: Tour members depart USA
T October 7: Tour members en route to India.  Arrive Delhi early morning, taxi to hotel.
W October 8: In Delhi, light sightseeing and resting.
Th October 9: Full day excursion to Agra  (Taj, Lunch, Fort, return).
F October 10:Early morning train to Haridwar, afternoon rest and Ganges walk.
Sa October 11: Morning Ganga Puja with Pandit Virendra Kaushik, evening Ganga arati performance.
Su October 12: Travel up the Mandakini Valley in the Himalayas to Himalayan Mountain Home Stay (Village Kimana).
M October 13: Local wandering in Ukhimath.  Visits to Bholeshvar and Omkareshvar temples; meeting representatives from the Himalayan Village Development Association, a local NGO.
T October 14: Walk to Gupt Kashi to view the Vishvanath Temple, travel by car to Kalimath  to view the Kali temple.   
W October 15: Day trip to Tungnath (10 km round trip alpine hike from Chopta).  Weather permitting, we will ascend to the summit at Chandrashila
Th October 16:.Day trip to Kartik Swami and Tungeshvar temples (longer jeep ride to get there, 6 km round trip walk).
F October 17: Visit Ransi (Rakeshvari temple), walk to Kalishila.
Sa October 18: Some other activity.
Su October 19: Local walking. visiting, or bird watching, according to preferences. 
M October 20: Return to Haridwar, arrive late afternoon.
T October 21:  Local sightseeing/shopping in Haridwar; evening Diwali celebrations.  
W October 22:  In Haridwar, evening train back to Delhi.  
Th October 23: Delhi sightseeing (morning) and shopping (afternoon).  Late evening departure for the airport. 
Fr October 24: Arrival in Chicago, journey's end
